Course overview

Build your confidence speaking Italian as you learn the basic vocabulary needed to enable you to introduce yourself, enjoy a restaurant, indulge in a spot of shopping and travel and communicate with others, in this fun, interactive course.

Where Uckfield Civic Centre, Civic Approach, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 1AE.

When Monday, 2:00pm - 4:00pm from 8th January 2024 until 1st July 2024 for 20 weeks.

No classes on 22nd January, 12th February (Half Term), 1st & 8th April (Spring holidays), 6th May (Bank Holiday), 27th May (Half Term), 17th June

Cost The full fee is £273.00. The concessionary fee is £135.00.

What you already need to know

The Introduction to Italian course that ran in the Autumn introduced students to some of the vocabulary and basic language skills. New students who have a few Italian words or who wish to refresh knowledge gained on holiday or in school are welcome to join.

What you will learn

Topics will include:

• How to greet people and introduce yourself and others
• How to order a drink and a meal in a cafe or restaurant
• How to ask and give directions whilst travelling in town
• How to describe your free time and daily routine and how to talk about your family
• How to describe yours and other people's job and express preferences.
• Shopping for groceries in a supermarket or a food shop

How you will learn it

This is an interactive course that is taught using a range of methods including:

• Practical application
• Tutor-led tuition
• Video and listening exercises
• Participating in role-playing
• Individual and group sharing of resources and knowledge via Padlet

Bring to the first session

• Pen and paper
• Italian dictionary (optional)

Extra study or practice

None required, but practising your vocabulary between classes will help you during the lessons.
