Course overview

This is an intermediate class for those wishing to improve and develop understanding of the Italian language and culture. Increase your vocabulary and learn how to communicate in a variety of situations, building knowledge and confidence in a friendly, welcoming atmosphere.

Where Uckfield Civic Centre, Civic Approach, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 1AE.

When Monday, 10:00am - 12:00pm from 18th September 2023 until 1st July 2024 for 30 weeks.

There are no classes on 23rd October (Half Term), 11th, 18th, 25th Dec & 1st Jan (Christmas holidays), 22nd Jan, 12th February (Half term), 1st & 8th Apr (Spring holidays), 6th May (Bank Holiday), 27th May (Half Term), 17th June

What you already need to know

This is an intermediate course and suitable either for those who have studied Italian for at least 2 years or have had experience of using Italian. You will be expected to be able to communicate in Italian in basic situations, asking for information and understanding responses. Also to have some knowledge of present, past and future tenses.

What you will learn

How to talk about:

• Past events, learning how to use different types of past tenses
• Future events
• The area you live and to describe your house in details
• Different means of transport and travelling when you are in Italy

This will enable greater participation in a variety of everyday conversations and situations.

How you will learn it

• Practical application of knowledge
• Tutor-led tuition for grammar points/vocabulary
• Video and Listening exercises
• Participating in role-playing on topics
• Individual and group sharing of resources and knowledge via Padlet

• Italian dictionary (optional)

Practising your language skills at every opportunity will support the learning you do in the classroom.
