Art Appreciation - Vincent van Gogh; The Man, The Myth, The Paintings *Course fully booked - Please phone 01825 761820 for alternatives* (HE09F42C)

Course overview

The Post-Impressionist painter Vincent van Gogh, is one of the most famous names in Western Art and whose paintings of A Starry Night and Sunflowers are known the world over.
The oft held view of his being a lonely, tortured genius has had a wide effect on how his paintings are seen. But how accurate is this?
During this four-week course we will look at the Myths surrounding the Man, explore how they arose and get behind them to understand more about the Painter, his artistic practices and vision.
Using some of the latest research we will work towards a richer understanding of Vincent van Gogh, the father of modern art.
Where Heathfield and Waldron Parish Council Room, 73 High Street, Heathfield, TN21 8HU.
When Thursday, 10:00am - 12:00pm from 19th January 2023 until 9th February 2023 for 4 weeks.
