Needle Felting - Bee, Toadstool & Wet Felted Flowers **COURSE CANCELLED** (HE09U11E)
Have a go at needle felting and creating a fabulous toadstool and a buzzy bee (that could be worn as a brooch). Learn how to wet felt a beautiful flower that can be worn as a corsage.
Course overview
Use different techniques as you learn the tips and tricks of needle and wet felting in a fun and relaxed workshop. In the morning, Sara will guide you, step-by-step to make a bee and toadstool. Switching to learn the art of wet felting in the afternoon and make a flower.
Where Sixth Form Centre, Heathfield Community College, Cade St. Old Heathfield, East Sussex, TN21 8RJ.

Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm on 14th May 2022 for 1 day.
Cost
The full fee is £72.00.
What you already need to know
You do not need to have any previous knowledge of felting.
What you will learn
- The processes needed to wet felt and needle felt 3D projects.
- How to pull off wool fibres from a wool top.
- How to lay the wool fibres during a project to ensure the project is firm and strong.
- How to use needle felting to decorate projects.
How you will learn it
- Tutor demonstration, the tutor will model each stage needed to needle felt.
- One to one support
- The encouragement of exploring your projects online, along with suggested books and websites.
Bring to the first session
- A Washing up bowl.
- Rubber gloves (if soap aggravates your skin).
- An old hand towel.
All other materials will be provided.
You will be given 3 needles, a foam pad, a bamboo mat, a water sprinkler, a brooch pin and wool for the initial project(s).
Should you wish to undertake any projects in addition to those listed, there will be an opportunity to purchase materials from the tutor on the day. Spare needles will also be available at a cost of 70p per needle.
** Please bring a packed lunch as food is not provided at the venue.** Tea, coffee and biscuits are available for purchase during breaks.

- ACRES will continue to supply hand sanitisers in all classrooms
- Students will still be able to work social distanced or on separate tables if this is their choice
- Sharing of equipment will continue to be kept to a minimum, and wipes/spray provided for cleaning being handling
- Tutors and students may or may not choose to wear face coverings
