Enjoy hand-building a jug from start to finish. You might not want to stop there!
All materials supplied.

Course overview

Learn how to design, construct and decorate a ceramic jug of your own design, using the coil building technique and underglazes or slips.

All materials will be provided.
Where Sixth Form Centre, Heathfield Community College, Cade St. Old Heathfield, East Sussex, TN21 8RJ.
When Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm on 14th May 2022 for 1 day.
Cost The full fee is £66.00.

What you already need to know

No experience is required. Beginners are welcome and all levels are catered for.

What you will learn

How to build an 8"-10" (20 - 25cm) tall jug using the coil building technique.
How to decorate your jug using underglazes or slips.

Please note: Your jug needs time to dry before bisque firing, glazing and firing again for the final time. It will be ready to collect from the ACRES office after three weeks. (From Monday 6th June).

How you will learn it

The tutor will demonstrate each technique and method and students will then have the opportunity to create their own ceramic jug.

Bring to the first session

Pen or pencil and apron.
All other materials will be provided.

** Please bring a packed lunch as food is not provided at the venue.**Tea, coffee and biscuits are available for purchase during breaks.

Extra study or practice

This is a one day workshop. However, following completion of this course, further artists and Studio Potter research will expand your knowledge of the subject. You may wish to continue learning with Clare and enrol on her next 10-week Hand-building Ceramics for All Abilities course.
