Camera Obscura Workshop **COURSE CANCELLED** (UC09U12D)

A return to the fundamentals of photography with this 'build' your own pinhole camera.
A great opportunity for people that want a more hands-on creative photography experience.

Course overview

Using the principles of pinhole photography and camera obscura, you will make a simple cardboard box camera, develop techniques for focusing, and discover the wonderful effects even the most basic of lenses can provide. Each camera and lens will make its own unique images which students can then 'rephotograph' using their digital cameras. We will not be using film to fix the image, rather we will be recording the resulting images using our digital cameras.

A fun and creative endeavour that teaches the basics of photography and allows for image-making that is simply unachievable with a modern digital camera.
Where Uckfield College, Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 3DJ.
When Saturday, 10:00am - 4:00pm on 26th March 2022 for 1 day.
Cost The full fee is £59.00.

What you already need to know

No previous experience is required.

What you will learn

You will be introduced to the principles of pinhole photography and the camera obscura and look at the work of contemporary practitioners who use these techniques to make creative images that are simply not possible with modern cameras. You will learn the first principles of photography and of how cameras work. You will make your own personalised camera, unique in its image-making and then make a folio of pinhole images.
