Create a willow obelisk/planter, just right for your climbing plants and enjoy your weaved flower or dragonfly hovering in amongst your plants this summer.
Course overview
Create an individual and beautiful biodegradable willow plant support and dragonfly or perhaps a flower or two for your garden. Obelisks have a year-round use to support your annual climbing plants and then double-up and decorated as outdoor Christmas trees. The day is an intensive but fun one-day workshop.

The full fee is £85.00.
What you already need to know
This course is suitable for absolute beginners, those interested in gardening with some basic craft skills, and for students who already have some experience.
What you will learn
You will learn the techniques of crafting with willow and you will construct a garden sculpture and accessories to take home.
How you will learn it
The tutor will demonstrate the techniques required to design and create a willow structure. You will have hands-on practice as you create your own, along with group discussion and 1:1 support and guidance.
Danny likes to work with a range of natural materials - including willow and natural found woodland material.
Bring to the first session
The tutor will bring fresh willow on the day, but if you have any bright shrub stems e.g. dogwood / Cornus alba Siberica, that you would like to use to enhance your structure, please bring along a selection of thin stems.
Please bring:
- A sharp pair of secateurs
- A pair of pliers
- A notebook and pencil
- A measuring tape
All other materials will be provided.
- Wear old clothing and closed footwear (no sandals)
- You may also wish to use garden gloves and eye protection

** Please bring a packed lunch as food is not provided at the venue.** Tea, coffee and biscuits are available for purchase during breaks.
