Course overview

The Bloomsbury Group of world-famous artists, writers and intellectuals is usually associated with the London squares around Bloomsbury, after which they were named. But several of the group lived and worked for much of their lives here in Sussex.
This three-hour course will explore the Sussex-based lives of the writer Virginia Woolf of Monk's House, near Rodmell and her sister the artist and designer Vanessa Bell of Charleston Farmhouse, near Firle.
You will consider how the local landscape inspired much of their work and by the end of the day you will have developed enough knowledge and insight to make future trips to Monk's House and Charleston more rewarding and enjoyable.

When Saturday, 10:00am - 1:00pm on 14th May 2022 for 1 day.
Cost The full fee is £32.00.

How you will learn it

Through presentations and audio-visuals, Heloise will help you to explore the lives, work and times of Virginia Woolf, Vanessa Bell and their circle. However, it is through interaction, discussion and activities that you will truly be able to discover your feelings and develop your opinions on the subject.
