equipment you need, prior to the start of the course.

You will be sent more information about your course, including how to join your online sessions, in

What you already need to know

Ideally you will have completed the first two parts of the intermediate course.

What you will learn

You learn to use camera skills and photography techniques to engage with exciting creative projects. The projects will engage with a variety of different types of photography and students will learn the history of different aspects of photography and engage with the exciting work of contemporary photographers.

The course will also cover new compositional techniques and some creative camera techniques such as the use of filters to improve photos, advanced light painting skills and creative use of camera flash. Students will also learn how to make photo albums and be given guidance of selecting and printing their best images.

We will also look at how students could share their photographs through photo-blogs, social media, picture libraries and even entering competitions!

There may be an opportunity to put together a group folio of the class's best work and having this self-published as a book. A session on book design will be included in the course. It will not be compulsory for you to have your work in the book or for you to purchase a copy. However, please note that the cost of the folio book will be in addition to the course fee should you wish to purchase one. Your tutor will supply you with further details during the course.

Students will also be encouraged to keep sketch/workbooks of their images and to make prints. Advice will be given on this during the course but students should also be aware that printing will incur some extra costs for them. However digital sketch-books will be more than appropriate.
