Learn the skills you need to get started on your first Macrame project.

When? Saturday, 10:00am - 1:00pm from 22nd June 2019 until 22nd June 2019 for 1 weeks.
Where? The course is held in Uckfield College, Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 3DJ.
How much does it cost? The full fee is £39.00.

Course overview

This course aims to be a great introduction to the easy and affordable craft of Macrame. You will learn about what yarns to use and how to tie the most common knots used in Macrame.

During the course

What you already need to know

This workshop is for all abilities, including beginners who have no experience of Macrame.

What you will learn

You will learn:

about the tools and cords used in Macrame
about the knotting cord
how to attach your cords to a dowel, rod, ring or even a piece of driftwood
how to tie common Macrame knots such as the half knot, square knot and half hitch knot and its variations
How to create a small wall hanging or begin on a project of your choice

How you will learn it

In a fun and relaxed atmosphere. The tutor will demonstrate each knot to the group and one to one when necessary. You will be supported, encouraged and able to learn at your own pace.

What do I need to bring to the first session?

All the materials will be provided during the workshop.

Please bring an A4 clipboard or a macrame board to hold your work in and take it home.

How much extra study or practice is involved?

This is a one-off workshop so there will be no homework! Penny does hope however that you will use your new found macrame skills to create lots of brilliant macrame items for your home.
