Where? The course is held in Uckfield College, Downsview Crescent, Uckfield, East Sussex, TN22 3DJ.

Course overview Learn how to make beautiful double sided bespoke bunting for your home or garden.
During the course
What you already need to know This workshop is open to anyone with or without sewing experience.
What you will learn You will have the opportunity to make up to 1.5 - 2 metres of bespoke bunting (6 - 8 double-sided bunting triangles)
You will learn:
How to measure and cut the fabric
How to clip the fabric to reduce bulk
How to sew double sided bunting using a sewing machine
How to use pivoting on the sewing machine
How to attach the bunting triangles on to bias binding
How you will learn it The tutor will demonstrate all the steps involved in making the bunting to the group and offer one-to-one support. You will receive handouts to take home and be shown relevant websites and useful video tutorials.
What do I need to bring to the first session? We request that you bring in your own sewing machine if you have one but we will be able to provide a sewing machine if you would prefer this. Please let us know when enrolling for the course if you would like to use one of ACRES sewing machines.
- Your chosen fabric for the bunting. You will need approximately a metre of woven cotton/polycotton fabric or a selection of
fat quarters to make 6 or 8 doubled sided bunting triangles.
- 1.5 - 2 metres of bias binding
A basic sewing kit (large and small scissors, pins, tape measure, stitch picker, fabric chalk/marker, hand and machine needles, bobbin sewing threads)
Notebook and pen for taking notes
** Please note: For weekend courses students are asked to bring a packed lunch as lunch is not provided at the venue. Tea, coffee and biscuits are available for purchase during breaks.**
